The Red Deer Home Show!

Our time spent at The Red Deer Home Show March 7th was great. Assistant Christy and I talked to lots of people and even picked up a few leads! The most commonly asked question was regarding housing prices and the oil industry?

"I love the word SOLD"

“I love the word SOLD”

“SOLD” is definitely one of my favourite words! Please contact me, Shantel, with any of your real estate needs or questions.  I would be happy to help you put a SOLD sign on your property!

Neighbourhoods in Red Deer, Alberta

Neighbourhoods in Red Deer, Alberta

Red Deer has many neighbourhoods and sub-neighbourhoods (or extensions of the original neighbourhood).  I will divide them into North- West, North- East, South- East and South- West (as per 50th St and 50th Ave) and not include every sub-neighbourhood, so as to keep this a little shorter….  Click here to see a general break down of Red Deer Neighbourhoods (it doesn’t include quite all of them).

In the North- West, there is Fairview, Highland Green, Johnstone Park, Kentwood, Normandeau, Oriole Park and Riverside Meadows.

The North- East has Clearview, Michener Hill, Pines, Rosedale, Waskasoo, Woodlea, Timberlands and Garden Heights.

In the South- West, there is West Park and West Lake.

The South- East has Anders, Bower, Deer Park, Eastview, Grandview, Inglewood, Lancaster, Morrisroe, Mountview, Parkvale, South Hill, Sunnybrook, Southbrook and Vanier Woods.  The South- East is probably the most populated area of Red Deer.

Click on map for a selection of neighbourhood maps.

There are many schools, churches, shopping areas, recreation centres, green spaces, parks, trails, etc spaced throughout the city for everyone’s convenience.  With the outlying neighbourhoods always growing and expanding, Red Deer is a booming city in the Central Alberta corridor between Edmonton and Calgary.

New Schools in Red Deer

Tuesday, October 28th, 2014

New Schools in Red Deer!

For the start of the 2014 school year, Red Deer had 2 new elementary schools!  École Barrie Wilson Elementary School in the Timberlands neighbourhood and Father Henri Voisin School in Clearview Ridge.  Both of these openings alleviated the oversized classes in the south east neighbourhoods.  Red Deer now has a total of 44 schools from elementary to high school; 24 public and 20 Catholic.

Another 2 schools will be built in Red Deer north- end by 2016!  A Catholic high school, “St Joseph’s High School”, will accommodate 900 to possibly as many as 1200 students, plus, an elementary school that will accommodate 500 students.  This will help with enrolment pressures in Red Deer’s north end communities.  Read this article in the Red Deer Express for more information on the upcoming new schools
